 Oval Gear Flow Meters are the most consistent and accurate flow meter we sell. Oval gear flow meters are accurate across a wide range of chemical formulations and viscosities. Oval Gear Meters do not require a straight plumbing run before and after the meter. It is important that product is properly filtered and that air is kept to a minimum in the plumbing system

Magnetic Flow Meters such as the Orion 2 are accurate and consistent with different viscosities of products. Products must be conductive for them to be measured by a magnetic flow meter. This means that oil based formulations such as Emulsifiable Concentrates (EC) will either not read or give inconsistent readings due to lack of conductivity. If looking for an easy to use, high quality and consistent flow meter for glyphosate and glufosinate, at a lower price point than the oval gear meters the Orion 2 series from Arag is an excellent option. Straight plumbing runs before and after the flowmeter along with eliminating as much air as possible are recommended. Orion 2 Magnetic flow meters can be integrated into most rate control systems.

A turbine or paddle wheel flow meter such as the Digiwolf can provide accurate readings but will be sensitive to changes in viscosity between different products or by temperature changes. At a reduced price point compared to magnetic meters and the flexibility to read most products they are a popular choice for high volume transfer systems using only one or two products in bulk or where the owner is willing to record and change calibration numbers for different products. It is recommended that products are well filtered to prevent damage to the paddle wheel. A straight plumbing run before and after the flow meter is recommended along with eliminating air from the plumbing.  Wolf paddle wheel flow meters can be integrated into most rate control systems.

Nutating Disc Meters such as the FM-1100 are a good value and can provide accurate readings but are sensitive to viscosity changes. They are best suited to lower volume transfer systems such as chem pumps and smaller venturi style set ups.
